City of Round Rock

The City of Round Rock's Economic Development Department has been building a community where neighbors can live, work, and get an education for Round Rock since its inception.

To achieve a lifestyle integration community that can be centered in Round Rock rather than just another satellite bedroom community for Austin, Round Rock's ED task force wanted to make it easy and interesting for businesses to locate there. "One of the best and most effective tools in achieving our goal is our dynamic new Web site," says Nancy Yawn, Director, Economic Development, Public Affairs City of Round Rock.

"When we contracted with Interactive Ensemble to develop our new Economic Development Web site, they were charged with making it a 'premier' site and they rose to the challenge.  Not only did they gather, compile, and display the data necessary for this type of a Web site - but also they went above and beyond in customer service.  And they did all this in less than three months. Working with the team at Interactive Ensemble is a great experience and we look forward to a long-term business relationship."

"We were able to implement a number of innovative new elements into the Round Rock Economic Development site," says Deb Shelby, president of Interactive Ensemble.

"We expanded the information content on the site, designed a databased section on charts, demographics, and other statistical information about the community, and restructured navigation to make it very user-friendly."

Some of the features most appreciated include the Contact Management system that allows Round Rock's Economic Development Team to keep track of and follow up with prospects, an automatic e-newsletter system that allows them to send out news and information by email in a professional and attractive format, and best of all, a Site Management System that allows staff at Round Rock to make changes to the site without the expense of calling the Web development group.

"Our goal, as always, is to put control in the hands of our clients," says Shelby. "When they're in control and their site continues to function and look great, then we feel like we've done a good job. Everybody's a winner."
