CSEC

The Texas Commission on State Emergency Communications (CSEC) needed a Web development partner who could also host their site.  As a certified state vendor and HUB, we worked with the CSEC team to develop applications to meet the needs of the organization.  Since we designed their first site 1998, their online services needs have significantly increased.

In 2001, we completed an application that allows the CSEC regional Councils of Government to submit their quarterly financial reports via a Web-based interface. The information is consistent and easy to administer. This tool will save the State of Texas thousands of dollars in paper, postage and staff resources.

We also created an application that allows local CSEC agencies to place orders for educational materials over the Web, and have the costs deducted from their department's budget. This tool also provides an administrative interface for the main office to review, approve and process orders.

In the summer of 2002, we completed a complete re-design and re-architecture of their Web site, which included building the site around SMS, our site management system. This gives their staff the capability to maintain the frequently changing content on their site, thereby offering them significant cost savings over having us make those frequent updates.

Among the many services their site now provides are:

  • Up-to-date information for sub-agencies and regional Councils of Government
  • A place for agencies and councils to purchase educational and promotional material
  • A reporting tool for agencies and councils to post quarterly expenses
  • An information source about the status of the 911 network for telephone companies

We continue to provide CSEC with design, Web hosting and site maintenance services.
