Deborah Shelby
Deborah Shelby, president, co-founder and CEO of Interactive Ensemble, has a long history of giving back to the community.
From Deborah's early involvement with the women and technology site Her Domain, she consistently demonstrates her commitment to more than just the bottom line. In addition, her work with Golfers Against Cancer has helped prove what can be accomplished when a small group of dedicated people commit themselves to a cause.
"In part, I founded Interactive Ensemble to enable me to contribute to the community in ways that I, as an individual, could not," Deborah says. "I think business leaders should view their company not just as equity but as a tool to do some good," she adds.
With clients such as Whole Foods Markets, Del Webb Corporation, and the City of Austin, Deborah Shelby first made her mark on the Internet in 1994 while at Go Media. These early experiences motivated her to create an environment based on the concept of teamwork, quality services, and affordable solutions. She believes that it takes a team of many different talents to create the right solutions for a client.
In 1997 Deborah founded Interactive Ensemble, which initially consisted of a group of friends working out of Deborah's home. The company has since grown exponentially, pulling in $1.3 million in 2000.
Her work and leadership have earned recognition from the Wall Street Journal and the Austin Business Journal. Deborah has a Bachelor of Arts from Southern Illinois University.
